manage your crisis
stay out of hot water
minimize your damage
don't relapse just remit

walk with poise
with legs that may fail
there is no pill to take
that can restore your pride

I cannot feel the rain upon my hand
or the prickle of heat from the sun
allergic to the sound of sympathy
I am unwilling to explain

new dreams dreamt
the old already forgotten
how can I fix my sleep it's broken
up in the morning in time for a nap

facing life unprepared
with a diseased body and soul
grieving even though no one died
laughter then tears collide
