Loved Your Article A Good MSer

by Rosanne Castillo-Romero
(Manila, Philippines)

Hi, my name is Rosanne Romero. Am Filipina and live in the Philippines where MS is not a "well-known" disease...or a disease that is not commonly understood.

I was only 33 when I was first diagnosed with MS (am now 54!) and when I started to use a cane, people would actually stop and watch me amble about. Very annoying. Made me feel like a performing poodle.

And then when I had to switch to using a motorized wheelchair (an Amigo), things only got worse. The first time I used it to go shopping, the guard at the mall entrance refused me entry saying such toys weren't allowed inside the mall. I kid you not.

Am so glad to have stumbled upon your site. My daughter got me started on a blog at rosanneromero.wordpress.com

Thank You!

Hi Rosanne,
Thank you so much for your kind words. So glad you were able to find us. I was inspired by your words. Your story is quite extraordinary and unique.

You are right. Even though MS is more common in the Northern Hemisphere, as you well know, there are people who get it in other parts of the world. People up here don't often realize this.

I am sorry to hear that you have gotten so much resistance as far as your MS. It's very encouraging to see how you are dealing with it.

Thanks again for making contact. We will definitely check out your blog. Good bye for now and take care.

Cir
