Lonely
by Jane Drebus
(Southern Indiana)
I have a little window to the world I see the people walk by, ride by, Kids on bikes swerve in the street I try to pretend I know what's there I try to think nothing's changed
But it has.
My little window's all too familiar It sees me wipe my MS eyes It hears the quiver in my voice My window used to be so beautiful Stained glass color splashed for me Blues, purples and pinks
All of it mine.
That's the problem, you see; It's all mine and none to share Whether the sun makes me squint Or the dark clouds threaten me It's all mine because I see it alone Can't play peek-a-boo by yourself.
Jane you hit it on the nose. Going thru this chronic illness is very lonely. A lot of people would say we use this illness as a crutch. They don't have it, they can't relate.

Very Powerful by: Akrista
Wow, Jane. This is a very powerful poem. It expresses exactly the way Cir feels sometimes. Living with MS can be such a lonely affair.
